When your there to see these guys enter the music scene, which I was. Saw them open for Armored Saint at Hollywood Palladium in March of 1985 ( Ride The Lightning ) and then again in June of 1986, we were introduced to some raw, heavy metal. And at this time they werent a radio friendly band. You didnt hear them much except for maybe "Fade To Black., but these guys were fucking awesome. When Master Of Puppets came out, a couple of those songs hit radio and that album became huge, Metallicas breakthrough album IMO. Followed up with And Justice For All, a killer album from start to finish. Only bummer is we werent able to hear the talents of Jason Newstead on it. But those first 4 albums are off the charts. Thats what Metallica fans were accustomed to. In anticipation waiting for their 5th album, expecting some more killer shit, they delivered The Black Album. Everybody was like WTF. A lot of disappointed fans, but ive got to admit, they gained a lot of fans with that album. The weakest album of the first 5. Then this Load comes out.. A lot of people love it, I personally dont care for it . Out of all the Metallica fans that were there from the start are there any left from The Black Album on? Very few I bet. Theres a new breed of fans these days, the ones that like the weaker Metallica. Only band that stayed true to their roots and sound is Slayer.

I started in 85. This album not as good previous, because I loved EVERY song. This album still kicks ass with half I love. Definately not worthy of a negative reception.

This song is my favorite song (besides King Nothing) off of Load, not just because it's a good song but because it was written from the heart and soul of Hetfield, and doing something like that isn't easy, especially with what he normally would write. I have a lot of respect for James for going out of his way to write this song despite what his fans would say or think. It takes a man a lot of courage to do something at such a level, and to see James have that strength is inspiring not just to me but to everything I've worked on in the past musically.

Looking back, Load/Re-Load was the last decent Metallica material. Not a big fan of most of it, but it has its moments, and it at least sounds good.

This was my moms first song she listened to from Metallica. She got through her teens with Load and Reload after getting them from the video store she used to work at. She saw this song as a mom with a strong, manipulative grip on her kid(my grandma was a narcissist). Shes grown to love their newer and older albums ❤ For me personally, I see this song as trying to fight and rip out the mental issues I fight with(depression, severe anxiety, etc. Plus the sorta inherented narcissistic behavior, i wanna rip that out so bad). Ive grown to love their newest album and St. Anger, for the raw emotions in St Anger and how they talk about their battles and issues in 72 seasons. (Love all their albums otherwise) They helped my mom first and now they're helping me <3
